“Traditional Farm Tools in China” is a special themed display in CAM, with more than 150 pieces of cultural relics in its collection, with an area of 400 square meters, the main exhibition line extending for 98 linear meters. The display presents the traditional farm tools in accordance with the agricultural production processes of plowing, sowing, transplanting, tilling, weeding, irrigation, harvesting, transportation, threshing, grain processing, and weighing.

Various means of display are used in the exhibition hall, such as sculpture modeling, exhibition case displaying, miniature scene, central booth, and multimedia. At the entrance of the hall, the sculpture “Curved Plow”, a traditional Chinese plow, is placed in the center, with the openwork-carved screen behind it, adapted from farming scenes on Han Dynasty stone and brick reliefs.

Through a combination of scene replica in display cabinets, reproduced farming landscape, and farming scenes and farming tools, visitors can see for themselves the geographical environment, phenological conditions, features of farming tools, and daily customs in various areas.

Some large farming tools in the central booth in the hall make a strong visual impact on the audience.

Starting with farming tools and agricultural productive relations, phenological exploitation, and farming activities, and based on China’s agricultural history and the latest research of the development of China’s traditional farming tools, the “Traditional Farm Tools in China” exhibition shows the relationship between farming tools and agricultural production and climate, as well as the role that farming tools play in agricultural civilization, through an exhibition of a large number of traditional farming tools, pictures, models, and sculptures. The display reveals the long and brilliant agricultural civilization of China, giving visitors a magnificent picture of traditional Chinese farming tools.
